The game just began, and it started off with a bang right away. The crystal twist is all kinds of crazy. Whoever gains possession of any of the crystals have a tremendous advantage over other people. My personal goal with the crystals is to collect them all and hopefully form a hidden immunity idol. The individual crystal powers can help in certain instances, but they do not compare to the hidden immunity idol. If other people are going to plan for that as well, then a crystal may not come into play for a while. Now about these tribes: I hope that all the guys on Saayazu are pretty competitive and contribute in challenges as best as they can. That is the most important quality in a tribe mate. Other then that, I haven't really had the chance to talk to any of the guys yet, but I hope to create a strong enough bond with one or two of them where I can feel secure enough in the tribe where I won't be paranoid. With a tribe of 7, a clear majority can take the power of the tribe. So I am hoping to be in that top group of 4, but we have to see how the challenge goes.

I am happy that our tribe won the challenge! I helped out in the beginning, and good thing I wasn't selected as MVP because I would not have been around for all of it. I came back and saw that we had a substantial lead so I made the strategical decision to relax a little bit. I am really not wanting to be seen as a strong physical threat early in the competition, which might come back to bite me since I was one of the bottom 3 performers on the tribe, but we won the challenge, so I have more time to create social relationships with those who bonded throughout most of the challenge. Had we been behind in the challenge, I would have put forth that extra effort, but I look at it this way. Boo put himself in a leadership position right off the bat, that could be an error on his part. And as I was participating in the challenge, many of the people talking were stepping over each other to kind of get their way in the challenge. For example, on the first night when I knew I was not going to be home, I had asked to take a turn before I left so that I could do my part in the challenge, and then Boston Rob said that "they had a list of people waiting." When he was the person who made that list... So I am not sure what he was trying to accomplish, but if he tries to control people in every challenge, it might not work out for him in the long run. As far as people I wanted to stick close to... I can see Marcus as a great potential ally. When it comes to challenge performance we were superior. The goal in this challenge was to aim for 4 posts a minute, because that is all the board allowed you to do, and we were the only 2 people that consistently did that. I can see Shawn and Zane easily straying towards the bottom of the tribe, and I would not be shocked if they were the first two people picked off. I am just going to play it by ear and celebrate the win that we have, and hope to create stronger bonds with my tribe members and see where my game goes from there, because right now I like my position, but I don't love it.
