I made it past round one! Isn't that great? I totally didn't put in the best effort in the challenge... mainly because I am NOT a runner. Or a swimmer... Or a lifter... I really just suck in challenges. BUT this second immunity challenges that the three tribes are competing in ISN'T something I would be bad at! All we have to do is present a few tablets to different elemental gods and depending on how fast we flip the tile over, it corresponds to a different point total.
I was extremely discouraged to hear, after no deliberation, that Pete wanted to sit me out. We were standing on our mats and out of the blue, Pete says, "Laura's sitting out!" And I didn't even have time to do anything, because before I knew it, the challenge had started. I was extremely disheartened and of course I'm going to say something! I live in D.C., and it's much too political and opinionated for me not to say something, right? But apparently that hasn't gone over well. I can basically feel the daggers everyone's shooting at me with their eyes, it's terrible.
I'm just hoping that some of those daggers aren't any of Nyonni! I thought I've done a pretty good job of making people like me. I guess I'm going to have to work harder. It's just totally frustrating. |

-cheers wildly into the camera-
Yay! We won! It just made the fact that I got sat out not as bad, and quite frankly, I'm not nearly as upset now as I was when I first heard I wasn't competing! Anyway, let's get to it.
-quickly gets down to business-
So when we get back to camp, spirits are obviously high. We just won our second immunity challenge and everyone is happy for the most part. I went for a swim just to sort of wash out all of the worries I had about there being some internal conflict. I think everything's pretty much fine.
But then... we're all sitting around the camp and then there's this god. awful. stench. At first no one really said anything about it. Maybe just some bad rice that got wet in last night's rain or something, but then it kept coming.... and coming... and coming... and no matter where you went there was a ridiculous stench. And I've finally came to the conclusion that coconut and rice does not sit well in Natalie's stomach.
So right now I'm just trying to get used to all this gas she's letting and not letting it effect any of my gameplay. It's seriously so ridiculously gross. It makes my mouth prewater with vomit, I'm not kidding.
Through all the stink though, Rafe and I talked for just a second about who we planned on trying to oust when we had to. We've decided it's between Gina and Pete. We heard Gina talking pretty close to us though so we scattered before we could do damage in the conversation.

That's interesting may I ask what are the reasons for voting Gina or Pete?

Well, we both figured that they're the ones we should go for. Natalie's been stinking up camp but she's proved to be a good asset. Pete obviously has communication issues and relies a bit too heavily on competitions. Then, he assumes he has authority as we saw in the immunity challenge which is not a good thing in my book. Gina, on the other hand, is also pretty quiet around camp. She hasn't integrated herself very well and really, I can't even tell you guys about a single good conversation we've had! |

What a quiet day around camp! Definitely not much to talk about! Everyone's got this really happy sort of buzz about them that is definitely doing more good than harm. But I've got something to say! Rafe and I are definitely becoming more and more of a two peas in a pod situation! We get along great. He's one of the few people on Nyonni that I could easily see myself being friends with outside of this game.
This is a really strange to say, though, but I'm really hoping for some sort of shake up in the game! This happy buzz is a good buzz to have, but how boring is it to sit in the middle of nowhere to play Survivor and not even be able to play it because there's no reason to? If there's not a swap or if we don't lose soon, I might die from boredom! I swear, I'll just sleep by Natalie and that'll be the end of it! |
